Pastor - Todd Childers
Being a native of Charlotte County, Virginia, and grandson of Emmanuel Bible Church's founder, Rev. Argle Johnson, Pastor Todd has found that the Lord has brought him back after 33 years. Todd and Dana have two sons, Matthew Fielder and Andrew and have lived in Bedford, VA since 1998. Prior to coming to EBC in February of 2015, he served as lead pastor of Norwood Baptist Church of Forest, Virginia for 10 years.
In 1991, Todd encountered the Lord Jesus while attending revival services in Panama as he was serving in the U.S. Navy. This forever changed his life and the Lord set him apart in preparation to serve Him in ministry work by sharing His Great Love with others. He answered that call in the year 2000 and has been actively pursuing to follow the Lord Jesus and to make Him known (Luke 9:23; John 17:3; 1 Cor. 2:2). Being a Persian Gulf War Veteran and recipient of numerous military awards, Todd has a heart for all who sacrifice in order to serve others.
Pastor Todd is a graduate of Liberty Bible Institute and holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biblical and Theological studies while continuing to remain a student of God’s Holy Word. He also has a heart for Missions by answering the call to take the gospel of Jesus to the nations and has been involved in Evangelical-Medical Mission trips to Uganda since 2012 through Mission Link International. Just as Jesus Christ came, not to be served, but to serve others with Living Water, so should we extend that same gift of eternal life to everyone (Mark 10:45; John 4:14).
